Scheduling and payment
- All services are private and scheduled by appointment.
- Hourly sessions are paid in full when booked.
- A $150 nonrefundable reservation payment is required for Full Practical and Complete Prep packages. The balance is due seven days before the first session.
- At least 48 hours’ notice is required to reschedule. Late cancellations and no-shows forfeit the scheduled session payment.
Candidate responsibilities
- Candidates provide their own practical kit, supplies, textbooks, and study materials unless otherwise stated.
- Kit guidance is based on the current candidate bulletin. Candidates remain responsible for confirming examination requirements and deadlines.
- Preparation sessions do not replace school training or determine licensing eligibility.
State board preparation does not guarantee a passing score. Candidates remain responsible for eligibility, registration, fees, deadlines, and required materials. The Instructor Method is an independent preparation provider and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the South Carolina Board of Cosmetology, NIC, or Prov.

Is this a group class?
No. State Board Prep is offered as private instruction focused on the individual candidate.
Is there a minimum for practical coaching?
Yes. Practical Skills Coaching has a two-hour minimum and is $75 per hour.
Is a practical kit included?
No. Candidates provide their own kit and supplies. Full Practical and Complete Prep include kit review and packing guidance.
Does the form book a session?
No. It opens a prepared email for you to review and send. Ervin will follow up before anything is scheduled.
